Samantha Rouette (Acevedo), LCSW

Owner/Founder

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Certified CBT and OCD Specialist, and a Clinical Supervisor at a virtual Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). I completed the extensive clinical training program through the Center for Anxiety Training, which has significantly deepened my expertise in treating anxiety and OCD.

I earned my Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration, where I focused my studies and clinical training on behavioral therapy interventions, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

With extensive experience across various levels of care, I have treated individuals facing anxiety, OCD, and eating disorders. I have worked in diverse settings, including providing crisis intervention services in the emergency room, delivering group therapy in schools, conducting intake assessments for community mental health organizations, and offering individual and family therapy across multiple environments. Additionally, I have served as a clinical therapist in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and residential treatment programs, specializing in anxiety, OCD, and mood disorders.

Currently, I work as a clinical therapist at a treatment center, where I provide more intensive services to individuals struggling with OCD and anxiety. As a clinical supervisor, I also guide and mentor other clinicians, ensuring they deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to our clients.

Advanced Training and Certifications:

  • Emetophobia (Vomit Phobia)

  • Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD/Anxiety

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, working on interior design projects, and spending quality time with my husband and puppies, Clifton and Ryker.

My Approach

I believe in a relational approach and that growth happens through authentic connection. I am passionate about providing support and education on the "ins and outs" of anxiety and OCD on the brain (hint: It IS treatable). I strive to center treatment around exploring and encouraging individuals to identify their values to help best pave the way to engage in meaningful action that will bring more joy and life satisfaction. I utilize a strength-based, client-centered approach while empowering individuals to develop adaptive coping mechanisms in the face of distress (another hint: you can do hard things!) and overall create a meaningful relationship to one's emotions. Most importantly; I encourage vulnerability and authenticity in my sessions and creates a safe space for self-discovery.
